Steffen Dance Competition Team
The Steffen Dance Competition Team creates a home for dancers to form strong friendships, build their technique, challenge and empower themselves, while enjoying exciting additional performance opportunities through the competition season.

All pre-competitive and competitive dancers must audition for the 2025-26 season.
What do we offer?
Pre-Competitive Teams:
Pre-Competitive Jazz Team (two hour commitment per week)
Pre-Competitive Hip Hop Team (one hour commitment per week)
Pre-Competitive Lyrical Team (two hour commitment per week)
Competitive Teams:
Minimum commitment of Performance Program classes, technique class and choreography rehearsals.
Mini Team: Program Two
Intermediate Team: Program Three
Junior Team: Program Four and Five
Senior Team: Program Six
Advanced Team: Advanced Dance (previously program seven)
What can I expect at my audition?
Auditions are free of charge
Pre-Competitive Audition:
Jazz and Lyrical team audition: Dancers should wear jazz shoes, a bodysuit or tight fitting top and leggings. Hair should be slicked back out of face. The audition will be led like a regular jazz or lyrical class. Dancers do not need to prepare anything.
Hip Hop Team audition: Dancers should wear sneakers and loose fitting clothing. Hair should be slicked back out of face. The audition will be led like a regular hip hop class. Dancers do not need to prepare anything.
Audition Times:
4:00-4:45 - 6-8 Hip Hop
4:45-5:30 - 9-11 Hip Hop
5:30-6:15 - 9-11 Lyrical
6:15-7:00 - 9-11 Jazz
7:00-7:45 - 12+ Hip Hop
7:45-8:30 - 12+ Lyrical
8:30-9:15 - 12+ Jazz
Competitive Team Audition:
Dancers should wear tight fitting clothing and have hair slicked back out of face. You should bring ballet shoes, jazz shoes, tap shoes, hip hop sneakers and their preferred footwear for modern/lyrical/contemporary. You will go through a series of technical exercises and dance combinations. Dancers do not need to prepare anything unless auditioning to choreograph their own solo.
Audition Times:
4:30-5:30: Mini Team (Ages 7-8)
5:45-6:45: Intermediate Team (Ages 9-11)
7:00-8:00: Junior Team (Ages 12-14)
8:15-9:15: Senior Team (Ages 15-17)
